  SQL 2005 Euphoria

qt8gt0bxhw|20009F4EEE83|RyanMain|subtext_Content|Text|0xfbffe10000000000e500000001000300

A lot of SQL 2005 information has surfaced recently and I am as giddy as a school girl (how's that for a phrase that is bound to result in some Google weirdness?!). I've been more excited about this than about anything (Well, except for the release of .NET 2.0 of course). Here's a bit of SQL 2005 linkage for some good reading.

Exciting stuff. It's torture to have to wait to start using this in some real world production applications.

It's even more torture to wait for SalesLogix to support it. Things like DDL triggers are desperately needed in SalesLogix (ie disallowing DROP or COPY database commands based on permissions).

I can't wait to play with the MSDE replacement. I can do some development/playing with that without deeply affecting my non-existent wallet.

Tell me about it! I am so excited about it I'm thinking about getting an MCDBA for it. For me, it's the XML support and more importantly CLR hosting inside SQL Server. It's not revolutionary but I'll take it.

This is really cool. I like the .NET Framework hosting and the Web Services pieces especially. Thanks for putting this information together in one place.
